![]() Now it is what only amounts to a money grab, that will likely not last much longer. They broke their perfectly working system, for no apparent reason.Īgain, whoever is in charge has completely ruined what was a great idea, and a great platform for people needing things done, and the contractors to do those things. ![]() I have completed more than the expected amount of tasks consistently, and earned more money than expected by the algorithm, and it is still apparently not enough, because now for the first time in years, I have no bookings after tomorrow. I have over 100 5-star reviews, one 4-star, and nothing below that. So you are punished for being consistently booked and not figuring out how to fit more hours in a day. So, if you fill your schedule completely, and continue to do so, you are not doing MORE, because you can’t possibly fit more. Contractors are being pushed to the bottom of search results for not completing MORE than the algorithms expected amount of tasks. With recent changes, the only benefit now is to TaskRabbit themselves. The platform used to truly benefit both one hiring, and the Tasker (contractor). The Bad: should have more support in smaller markets, no tax help or business insurance, no way to dispute an unfair review, difficult to cancel tasks without an explicit reason The Good: very flexible, glad we can charge our own rates Yes, they match up clients and taskers, but they provide absolutely no business insurance which can make it very difficult to do any kind of handywork in big cities. They also probably charge too much for their "trust and support" fee without getting much in return. I understand you need to make clients happy, but a couple of freebie cancellations a month on the tasker side would be greatly appreciated. Also, they should really make it a little easier for taskers to reject some jobs without it counting against our metrics. So I really think Taskrabbit should do more to encourage user uptake in all of their markets, otherwise they'll lose veteran taskers like myself. And I'm not lowering my rates because I think that still wouldn't help and then I'd just be paid less. The Richmond market, unfortunately, is much weaker. And once I built up a good work history, I was charging pretty good rates. Started being a tasker in NYC because of the flexibility.
